Spanish Lesson: Learn 150 Verbs in Less Than 3 Minutes (Video)

The title sounds a little too good to be true, but it is not. This video will show you how to use the TION-CION cognate trick to create verbs without having to memorize individual words.

This is part two of the TION-CION cognate trick. If you did not see part one, you should watch that one first: Making Nouns.

Here is a PDF word list with nouns and verbs that were created using this trick: WORD LIST

The Spanish lessons were created by the author of Functional Police Spanish, Paul Kurtzweil. Paul is a retired law enforcement officer who has been teaching Spanish for over 15 years.

During his law enforcement career, Paul conducted over 3000 work-related translations; did interviews on Spanish language television; conducted undercover operations entirely in Spanish; spoke as a guest at events hosted by the Mexican Consulate; and translated legal documents for use in the Spanish-speaking communities within his jurisdiction.

Nowadays, Paul lives in the Riviera Maya and helps his fellow expats learn the basics of the language.

  1. I love these little videos! My only wish is that website had a place where they were listed in the order they should be viewed because some of them build on others and I want to watch them all.

    • Thank you. I really should put the videos in some type of order. The original plan was to create an entire course with numerous videos and worksheets; however, I put it on hold because the videos have not been as popular as the rest of the blog.
