Two Expats Mexico Launches a New YouTube Channel

That’s right, folks. After three years of writing articles about Mexico, Linda and I have decided to try our hand at vlogging (video blogging).

We plan to make videos that show people outside of Mexico what life is like here, and in particular, what life is like for a couple of retirees from the States — namely, us.

Our New YouTube Channel

Occasionally, we’ll post a video directly to the blog, but if you want to see them all, you’ll need to go to our YouTube channel. Here’s the link:

Behind the Scenes with Two Expats Mexico

So far, we only have one video posted; however, we have several more in various stages of production and we plan to get them out soon.

If you would like to be notified the moment we post a new video, you’ll need to subscribe to the YouTube channel directly.

Let’s Wrap This Up

This whole vlogging thing is pretty new to us, so it’s probably best if you keep your expectations fairly low until we start to get the hang of this thing. We would hate to see you disappointed.

By the way, if you’re a fan of the written blog and you’re worried this is replacing it – it’s not. We will continue to churn out informative articles.

Well, at least on rainy days because we don’t take our laptops to the beach. 🙂

  22. This is fabulous! I own a small travel agency, Bellet Travel, and specialize in all-inclusive vacation packages throughout the Caribbean and Mexico. So many clients are fearful of Mexico – the media has terrified them -and I often refer them to your blog! I tell them you’re a retired Orlando PO, you and your wife have retired to Riviera Maya area, and you have no reason to be anything but honest… your blog changes many minds! Im so excited for your videos – hopefully I can share them to my page for all to read!

  23. Paul, you did a great job on the “Why You Shouldn’t Freak Out If You See This in Mexico” vlog! You seem to be a natural!
    Looking forward to many more.

Funny! We had the same thing happen in Celestun. We saw a bunch of heavily armed military guys come charging in to the main square.. we thought something terrible was happening, only to see them hop off the truck to get some ice cream at the tienda. A really memorable and now funny moment in Yucatan!

  33. Congratulations on the launch of your You Tube channel. I tried to subscribe but couldn’t’t figure out how

  34. Good for you! You are good at it! Good luck! I am a YouTube fan! See you there!

  35. I hope you enjoyed your retirement! It’s over now. 😉

  36. Great video. We really appreciate your tips and adventures in Mexico. We moved down here 9 months ago and love it.

Excellent!!! Love the new vlogging video. The two of you are naturals in front of the camera. Great job!!
I know you can’t meet up with everyone who follows you, but was hoping you’re having another meet and greet in May in Akumal. Scott and I are at ABBWR from 5/15 – 5/25 and would love to buy you and Linda a drink. We are so grateful for all the info, the vlogoging, Spanish lessons and responses to everyone who contacts you. You are what made us decide to go to ABBWR for our first vacation in 15 years with the hopes of retiring in Mexico in the next couple of years.
30 days until paradise. We can’t wait!!!

  38. Excellent! We love your blog and now we can watch your vlog. Just don’t work too hard; remember, you’re retired?

  47. Paul, as always, my opinion and 45 pesos will get you a cup of coffee almost anywhere. That said, I would recommend losing the full screen head shot with a white background – unless you’re going to put a height grid behind you!

Instead, if you have the tools, use the head shot in picture-in-picture mode as a small imagine in the corner of your other video. You could even do the narration from a desk, with the right background, which might be a lot more comfortable.

Thanks again, and looking forward to more interesting VLOGs!

  48. Wonderful news – look forward to following!

  49. Congratulations! You already have the best blog on the subject, and the vlogg is impressive! Great job!

  50. So happy for your and Linda’s vlog! It’s nearly like seeing you in person! Great! I often wondered about those big police guns….now I know. Thanks!
