They are few and far between but the time has come again to announce a business worthy of being one of Q-Roo Paul’s Picks — Pizzeria Manglar in Tulum, Mexico.
Just in case you didn’t already know this, Tulum is home to a large Italian expat population. That means that not only can you practice your Italian on a regular basis, you can also enjoy some authentic Italian cuisine at discount prices.
There are several good pizza places but Manglar is Linda’s absolute favorite. She usually insists that we go there at least once a week — and since I love the pizza too, I always give in.
Manglar has outdoor seating in a courtyard located behind the business. The area is well decorated and has a very inviting feel to it. After dark, they often light a fire in a pit in the middle of the restaurant.

The Pizza
The pizza is fresh, hand tossed, brick oven style, thin crust pizza served on decorative tiles. The pizzas are made with high quality ingredients and it is $120 pesos (or about $6 USD) for any pizza, regardless of the number of toppings.

You can choose a pizza from the menu or just tell them what you want on it

The one in the middle is a habanero sauce that is made in-house. It is delicious but it does have a bite to it

Let’s Wrap This Up
This is a great place to go enjoy a great pizza and a few drinks without spending a lot of money. Even though this place is a little off of the beaten path, it still has quite a following so I would recommend getting there as early as possible.
I love all the info you provide. Our plan is still to build in Tankah so you have been most helpful. Can’t wait to meet both of you when we arrive to build. Thanks again for all the great info
Another place on our list to try. Looks delicious.
That’s made my mind up, we’re off to Manglar for pizza tonight.
Yum! Thanks, Paul. We’re heading down to Akumal in a few weeks and always spend time in Tulum…love the beach there! We’ll definitely be trying out Manglar’s this year…maybe twice or thrice 🙂
